BIOGRAPHY

Albert William Schaffer was born on Strawberry Hill in Kansas City, Kansas, and was of Slovenian Heritage. Albert was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, receiving several medals during his service time, including the Purple Heart. He had been employed at General Motors in Fairfax for over 33 years, retiring in 1981. Mr. Schaffer was a member of Holy Family and St. Mary-St. Anthony Catholic churches. He was past president of the Holy Name Society at Holy Family Church, a former member of Knights of Columbus, the UAW-Local 31 and the DAV. Courtesy of findagrave.com.
