BIOGRAPHY
Charles "Chuck" Tryon was born April 13, 1927 in Circleville, near Holton, Kansas. He attended school at Prairie Rural High School and was a freshmen in 1941. Tryon was set to graduate in 1945 but enlisted in the Navy at age 17. When he turned 18, he was instructed to enter the service, missing graduation. Tryon's boot camp was in San Diego, the training focused on the invasion of Japan. Tryon was stationed at the northern tip of Hokkaido an island of Japan. His rank was Storekeeper 3rd Class which translated in Navy terms to "Jack of the Dust". Tryon returned to the states, married Charlette, started a family and worked for the Railroad. Charlette and Chuck were able to celebrate 75 years of marriage in January of 2024.
