The Eisenhower Foundation has partnered with the Eisenhower Memorial Commission (EMC) to transition the rich online resources that were created during the development of the physical Eisenhower Memorial in Washington, D.C.  

While the National Park Service will assume management of the Eisenhower Memorial when it opens to the public in mid-September, the Eisenhower Foundation will acquire the digital resources, or E-Memorial, developed by the EMC and feature them on our website. The E-Memorial includes an interactive timeline, pivotal moments, lesson plans, and an audio tour of the Washington, D.C.-based memorial.

Senator Pat Roberts, Kansas, and Chairman of the Eisenhower Memorial Commission said, “I am delighted that the Eisenhower Foundation, in conjunction with the National Park Service and U.S. National Archives, is committed to making the Eisenhower Memorial’s digital resources available to the public. It is truly fitting that the Foundation – an inveterate Kansas organization deeply committed to sharing Eisenhower’s legacy – will be stewarding these assets long beyond the dedication of the Memorial. The Eisenhower Memorial Commission is grateful to the Foundation for ensuring that students, educators, and visitors will be able to learn more about Eisenhower and why this influential Kansan and American leader deserves this Memorial.”

According to the National Park Service, the largest demographic group of visitors to Presidential memorials are K-12 students, therefore the Eisenhower Memorial Commission targeted educational messaging appropriate for these age groups through the E-Memorial. Likewise, IKEducation serves K-12 students, so assuming the E-Memorial’s educational resources and mission is a perfect fit. As the Eisenhower Foundation moves into Phase Two of its new website development, these resources will become available to visitors via the IKEducation pages. Check them out!
