BIOGRAPHY

Marvin Rediker was born at home near Lincoln, KS and attended country school registered to Westfall, KS . He started High School in Lincoln, KS until his Mother became very ill. At that time Marvin stayed home to help take care of the farm and his siblings. He was drafted but the Army said he was too young to go and sent him home. A few months later they called him back in and he began basic training. Marvin served in the Pacific theater in Japan and witnessed first hand the devastation of the Atomic bombs. Marvin had been issued a Corporal uniform being promoted to Corporal 2-5 but the paperwork did not catch up with him until after his discharge. See much more in his interview.

Clarence Reed was born in 1911 in Texas. He completed one year of High School and was married when he joined the US Army. BIOGRAPHY

Clarence A. Reed was born in 1909 in Oklahoma. He completed one year of High School, was married and working in Brown Co. Kansas, as a chauffeur/bus/taxi driver when he entered the US Army. He was inducted at Fort Leavenworth on 11/10/1943. Reed was stationed somewhere in Europe and was killed, April of 1945 according to the US enlistment records. Courtesy of fold3.com.

BIOGRAPHY

Lowell Reed was born northwest of Hope, KS, on a farm to Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Reed. He attended elementary school in Navare, KS. and graduated High School in the class of 1937 from Enterprise, KS. Reed was a distinguished member of 4-H in Dickinson Co. Kansas with a health record of outstanding recognitions. He won the right to represent the county at the state health contest in Manhattan, winning the livestock championship. Reed went on to the livestock exposition in Chicago in a national contest where he placed fifth. After high school, Reed worked for two years in the bank at Enterprise, KS.  then went to college at both McPherson and Emporia. He quit school when he knew he would have to go to the Army. He worked at home until he got the call. There was a long delay so he entered the business college at Salina and accepted a job at a bank to meet expenses. Reed entered the Army on April 18, 1942.
