BIOGRAPHY

Alec Guinness de Cuffe was born April 2, 1919 in Maida Vale, London, England and was an English actor. He had a long acting career including portraying Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars. Guinness served in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve in WW II, initially as a seaman in 1941, before receiving a commission as a temporary Sub-lieutenant on April 30, 1942. He had a promotion to Temporary Lieutenant the following year. Guinmess commanded a Landing Craft Infantry at the Allied Invasion of Sicily and later ferried supplies and agents to the Yugosiav partisans in the eastern Mediterranean theatre. BIOGRAPHY

Clyde J Gurley, known as "Jack" was born in Florence, KS to Helen and Joseph Gurley. Jack prioritized education throughout his life. He attended Whitewater High School before pursuing further studies at Salt City Business College. With a thirst for knowledge, he continued his education at the University of Tulsa, earning a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. Later on, he pursued a Master's degree in Spanish from Wichita State University. Jack's passion for learning was matched by his love for country and service. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy for two years. His military service exemplified his sense of duty and commitment. Jack led a fulfilling career as a production superintendent at Pickrell Drilling Co., Inc. for an impressive span of 42 years. Jack married Carol and raised a family in the Newton, KS area. Donald Osterman born in 1920 enlisted into the US Navy in 1943. He served on the US Monrovia, an attack, transport ship. General Eisenhower visited the ship during the war. His son Scott Osterman shares information about his fathers war experiences. Donald passed in 1985.

BIOGRAPHY

Colonel Hagood's Texas A & M class was commissioned on graduation, June 5, 1941. In addition to battle stars he received the Meritorious Service Medal. He was a graduate of Army Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, KS, and served as an instructor there for several summers. He received a Master's of Engineering degree from Texas A & M University and served as the District Engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation, Paris, TX. He was married to his wife Louise for 66 years.

BIOGRAPHY

Maynard Haldeman enlisted on September 30, 1942. He was a member of the Military Police branch of the Army; serving with the 6th Infantry Division in the Pacific Theater. He served in New Guinea and Luzon. He reach the rank of Corporal during his military service. During his service he received the following recognitions: Bronze Service Arrowhead - Pacific Theater; American Service Medal; Asiatic Pacific Service Medal; Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star; World War II Victory Medal; and Good Conduct Medal. Maynard Haldeman was discharged on December 12, 1945.
